The three projects by MOB (mauve) Architects presented here make it possible to pinpoint some characteristic features of this young design team:
-versatility, as expressed in their refusal to work within a single figurative code and the corresponding readiness they display to adopt the most suitable vocabulary for the project in hand
-attention to materials, which are not only selected from a vast range but also associated in stimulating, unusual combinations and even invented when the need arises
-study of the relationship between the architectural organism and its surroundings, as is evident both in the handling of space and in the attention to perceptual impact from the street
Their works are thus so very different from one another that it is sometimes hard to believe that they come from the same drawing boards. They are, however, linked by the same expressive passion, a drive to explore the nature of each project thoroughly, and the ability to provide the human activities they house and mold with a channel of expression that combines the utmost rigor with the greatest freedom…
