mob architects 1998_2012

date:  2013

This publication presents a selection of the practice’s works from 1998 to 2012. The projects included share the same principles and rules of approach concerning function, structure, materiality as well as the aim that the completed work is a consistent architectural expression of the program and the constraints imposed by the connected natural and socioeconomic environment.
An architectural project occurs in the mind and on paper, but it is born and completed on site. One flash of inspiration is not enough to carry out a project. Architecture demands labour, art and technique, an understanding of the demands and circumstances of each task. Knowledge, careful consideration and sensitivity must be inextricably joined in order to boost the qualities of the raw materials and control the final result.
Architecture as, amongst other things, a record and reflection of who we are both collectively and individually, serves to define our culture and ourselves. In addition to housing our needs it therefore must offer pleasure, creating views, images, spaces and landscapes were life is enhanced.
